Θυσία λόγω εορτών..

Τα Χριστούγεννα αυτά είναι αλλιώτικα από άλλες φορές..

Οι εποχές του 2000 με τα χριστουγενιάτικα δέντρα του Αβραμόπουλου απέχουν πολύ..
Μερικές εικόνες είναι χαρακτηριστικές και μιλάνε από μόνες τους.
Βλέπεις στο κέντρο του Αγρινίου να λειτουργούν ελάχιστα ΑΤΜ.Τα υπόλοιπα δεν τα έχουν επισκευάσει. Επίτηδες μπορεί..
Μπροστά από αυτά βλέπεις ουρές που φτάνουν μέχρι το Δημαρχείο.Μάταια περιμένουν οι τελευταίοι της ουράς πολλές φορές καθώς τα χρήματα από το μηχάνημα ανάληψης τελειώνουν.”Λυπόμαστε δεν μπορούμε να σας εξυπηρετήσουμε”.
Στη πλατεία δεν υπάρχει φάτνη, καρουζέλ, κτλ κτλ. Μετακόμισαν λίγο παραπάνω. Την περνάς περιμετρικά λόγω των έργων και συνωστίζεσαι με τους περαστικούς.. Στο προσταυτευτικό κάλλυμα επάνω κάνουν ..Party οι αφίσες.!!
Παλιά έπαιρνες το ΚΤΕΛ, ερχόσουν 15 μέρες Αγρίνιο ( σε ολόκληρο το ταξίδι άκουγες τα σκυλάδικα του οδηγού, έλεγες καμιά κουβέντα με τον διπλανό, το έκανες το ταξίδι κανά πεντάωρο λόγω γέφυρας αλλά έφευγες των Φώτων.
Τώρα; Διακεκομμένες διακοπες.Του σκοτωμού έρχεσαι τη παραμονή. Θα φτάσεις Τρίτη βράδυ, άντε Τετάρτη, θα κολλήσεις το Σαββατοκύριακο, θα φύγεις Κυριακή, θα δουλέψεις Δευτέρα-Τρίτη και μετά φεύγεις πάλι πρωτοχρονία! Αυτά ισχύουν και για πολλούς φοιτητές, καθώς αλλάξαν οι καιροί..
Ξέρετε κάτι όμως; Όλα αυτά δεν μου χαλάνε τη διάθεση! Γιατί η εποχή που είναι πιο ζωντανό το Αγρίνιο είναι τα Χριστούγεννα& η Πρωτοχρονιά. Όπως και να έχει, θα πάρεις με τη σειρά τα μπαράκια, θα πιεις τα ποτά και τους καφέδες σου, θα δείς τα αγαπημένα σου πρόσωπα, θα πάρεις σβάρνα τα πάρτυ. Άμα είσα και λίγο πιο μεγάλος/μεγάλη θα πάς και βόλτα τα πιτσιρίκια σου. Άμα είσαι και λίγο πιο μικρός θα βγείς άφοβα να πείς τα κάλαντα..
Αυτό είναι πάνω κάτω το Αγρίνιο στις εορτές με την καλή του όψη και με την μυστήρια λόγω συγκυριών.
Ας πάει λοιπόν η κακή μας διάθεση..Θυσία λόγω εορτών!!

- world renown , multi awarded, internationally acclaimed, best Tibetan vocalist, Yungchen Lhamo (already performed at Carnegie Hall in New York)
- prominent former political prisoner, Ngawang Sangdrol (already featured in BBC and CNN)
- the most famous and internationally acclaimed Alaskan Inuit band Pamyua (already performed at The National Museum of the American Indian in New York and Washington D.C.)
- talented uprising band Culture Brothers, a fusion of Tibetan, Yup’ik (Inuit) and American musical traditions, with Karma Lama also playing traditional Tibetan instruments

The purpose of the event is to offer a wonderful concert in the best venue in Anchorage for free in the name of Free Tibet, in order to inform and raise awareness about the situation of Tibetans in Tibet, who are suffering because of a lack of basic human rights.
The musicians are Tibetan and Alaska indigenous peoples
Yunghchen Lhamo will be performing for the first time in Alaska.
The event will begin with the first public talk on the West Coast by Ngawang Sangdrol, one of the most important former political prisoners in Tibet. She was in prison from age 13 to age 24 for peaceful forms of protest. She was released due to international pressure in 2002 before the visit of Chinese President Jiang Zemin to American President George Bush.
Both Yungchen Lhamo and Ngawang Sangdrol have been blessed and encouraged to continue their activity by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

ACTION ALERT: Demonstrations for equality are being held across the nation tonight. Here in Nashville, second-class, or gay and lesbian, citizens and their allies will gather for a candlelight vigil at Riverfront Park at 5pm to ‘Light Up The Night For Equality.’ Bring candles and “vigil for the rights of 18,000 same-sex couples who married and look forward to the day when those rights are available again - for EVERYONE.”


A Movement Reborn:
The sense of loss and disillusionment from the election results isn’t limited to the gay community. For those who support the equal rights of gay citizens, One Orlando’s candlelight vigil is about a movement being reborn. . “People have to stand up — not just the gay community, but the straight community that is caring and sensitive,” said the Rev. Bryan G. Fulwider, senior minister of First Congressional Church. “We have to stand and be with those who are being marginalized by society for unjust reasons. It’s a matter of compassion and justice for me.”

Number of Working Poor Increases

Sociologist Erik Snel, of Erasmus University in Rotterdam, says that the number of working poor in the Netherlands has now reached 200,000. This means that these people, in three of the last 10 years, were living under the poverty level. They are mainly single mothers and other one-income families, low earning self-employed people, fishermen, farmers and others working in agriculture.
