GORILLA ZOE GETS “LOST” WITH LIL’ WAYNE; ATL-BASED RAPPER TO JOIN THE SUPERSTAR ON HIS “I AM MUSIC” ARENA TOUR

Monday 22 December 2008 @ 3:12 pm

NEW SINGLE, “LOST,” BLOWING UP AT URBAN RADIO IN ADVANCE OF EAGERLY AWAITED SECOND ALBUM; “DON’T FEED DA ANIMALS” DROPS ON MARCH 17TH

Block Entertainment/Bad Boy South recording artist Gorilla Zoe has announced plans to join Lil’ Wayne on his hugely anticipated “I Am Music” arena tour. The dates - which feature a multi-artist bill that also includes Gym Class Heroes, T-Pain, Keyshia Cole, and Keri Hilson - will kick off on December 14th at Miami’s American Airlines Arena and then travel North America through mid-January (see attached itinerary). Among the tour’s certain highlights will be a New Year’s Eve extravaganza at the Philips Arena in Zoe’s hometown of Atlanta.

Zoe is currently exploding at radio with his new single, “Lost.” The track - which will be featured on the ATL-based rapper’s upcoming sophomore album, “DON’T FEED DA ANIMALS” - is now climbing the top 25 at Urban outlets nationwide after impacting as the #1 Most Added track at both Urban and Rhythmic.

In addition, the single’s companion video clip has been confirmed for “Heavy” rotation on BET’s daily hip hop show, The Deal. The video is slated to premiere on The Deal on Tuesday, December 16th (check local listings).

“DON’T FEED DA ANIMALS” is without question one of 2009’s most hotly awaited new hip-hop releases. The album - which follows last year’s smash debut, “WELCOME TO THE ZOO” - arrives in stores and online on March 17th.

Zoe firmly established himself as a truly original hip-hop voice via 2007’s top 10 rap smash, “Hood Figga,” not to mention his featured role on Block Entertainment/Bad Boy South labelmate Yung Joc’s hits, “Coffee Shop” and “Bottle Poppin’.” As if that weren’t enough, he joined forces with superstar rap combo Boyz N Da Hood for their 2007 release, “BACK UP N DA CHEVY.”

Since then, Zoe has lent his distinctive style to a variety of hip-hop hits, including tracks by Cheri Dennis, Shawty Lo, and Rick Ross.

He has also appeared on a variety of mixtapes, including the just-released “FEEDING TIME,” available for free download at www.myspace.com/gorillazoe.

New York’s Power 105.1 Adds Rap Artist Five Into Rotation With His Debut

Monday 22 December 2008 @ 3:12 pm

Single “Show Stopper” Featuring Slim From 112

Rap artist “Five” (Sean Foskey) has entered hip hop with the welcome reception that most artist dream to have. Five has always rapped but didn’t pursue it professionally until his manager Shake of Stone World Music Group/Fontana/Universal approached him about being part of his record label. With his first single “Show Stopper” featuring Slim from 112, hitting New York’s Power 105.1 airwaves, Five is set to make his mark in hip hop. “The single “Show Stopper” is officially releasing in January 2009 but DJ’s are asking for the music in advance. It’s a great spot to be in as an independent company with major distribution,” says co-owner Big Tyme of Stone World.

Five was born in Upstate New York, he received his name during the bid he did in prison. But after speaking to Five you will realize there is so much more to this young intelligent emcee with the hard exterior. He attended college, values family and has the street credibility that most emcee’s pretend to have. Five is called the “General” by those who know him best. “Out of all the misconceptions that exist, you can’t make yourself a leader, you can’t make people respect you, being a general is an elected position, it’s a privilege. Because of me a lot of people made it home from prison. During the five years I realized Love, Loyalty, Honor, Truth and Justice were no longer slogans but principles in which you must live by.” says Five. Everything prior to the five years spent in prison means little to Five. He knows that it was all meant to be part of his journey into Hip Hop, he writes about what he has experienced not what he was told, it’s what he is, what he lives and rhyming is what he does. “Some artists have swag, I have presence, Hip Hop raised me and I feel blessed that I can present the positives and negatives of my life experiences through music” says Five. Everything he has obtained so far is based on his drive to succeed. Failure is not an option.

The underground hip hop world is buzzing about Five. He has appeared on website magazines such as HipHopGame.com, OnSmash.com, Worldstarhiphop.com, WeRunHipHop.com, and Realtalkny.net just to name a few. Look for the official release of his digital single Show Stopper on January 13, 2009 via all major media distribution outlets.
